Mercury retrograde in Aries marks a new beginning....or perhaps the beginning of the beginning...or maybe the end of the end of the beginning....🤷
It’s a potent one, for sure. Aries is the archetype of the warrior. The lower expression of that energy is impulsive, antagonistic and ego-based and doesn’t take much into consideration beyond the end of one's nose.
Most of us can relate at some point or another to being in these situations.
The higher expression of Aries is so authentically connected to its spiritual nature that it’s almost as if it’s solely identified, mind, body and soul with its divine nature. It’s singular in thought, feeling and emotion and action. Neither aggressive nor resentful but without being a people-pleaser either... If you work with manifestation principles, you know that’s one of main goals: line up your energy with your thoughts and it will lead you to take quick action towards manifestation. No split energy. No second-guessing. Not much thought at all, really.
Of course, being human and all, only rarely does it work this way. We’re messy and complicated in how we think about things, even the things we think we want most, maybe especially those. Personally, I can find it challenging to go 5 minutes without second-guessing myself and while I prefer not to make the Mercury Retrograde, which happens roughly once a quarter into something to be overly vexed about, I confess that I find it a time when my thoughts can be especially negative.
With the Sun meeting "wounded-healer" Chiron, also in Aries (through 2027) there's a definite vulnerability with this conversation adding to the intensity of the total solar eclipse and the mercury retrograde.
In his remarkable book Homo Sapiens, Yuval Noah Harari discusses why it is that despite a striking increase in living standards over the generations it nevertheless doesn’t seem to translate into much measurable increase in overall levels of satisfaction, fulfillment and emotional well-being. As he notes, at a basic biological level, we are not significantly different from our ancestors where it comes to our neuro-chemistry...(In new thought/new age circles, we recognize this as our “frequency”or your vibrational set-point.) Maybe that's why it can feel, particularly during a retrograde phase where confusion can have us think we're moving backwards, as if things never really change.
Is it fear or guilt in our evolutionary, tribal wiring? Gay Hendricks has famously described in The Big Leap that allowing ourselves experience a more sustained sense of joy, well-being and satisfaction is actually pretty uncomfortable for our -- let's face it -- trauma-stoked human nervous systems.
Of course, as leaders in elevating consciousness on the planet, we have a higher bar. This is our common mission..an entrepreneurial and spiritual one at that (and Aries the Warrior loves the challenge of a Mission:)
If you’re finding yourself in a repeat of an old pattern or lapsing into old negative emotional dramas, try this on for size: what is DIFFERENT here, this time? About a situation, about yourself, about others or your response, abou t how long you stay "there"? Find something, even if it’s subtle that can brake the blame and shame cycle. I can promise you, there HAS been progress, even if it doesn’t feel “enough” or you’re not where you’d like to be. You do have to be willing to look at it and acknowledge subtle, changes.(Yes, it takes a bit of work. But this is definitely a time where it's ok to let our minds run the show.)
You can try this where it comes to your business. To your relationships or personal life. To your finances. To your spiritual connection. Even to the collective geo-political nightmare it appears we are caught in. We live in a holistic universe afterall and while the eclipse offers the most powerful portal for BIG shifts, we can/must? make it a practice to note the smaller, more subtle ones.

New Moon in Pisces & Eclipse Season: the way forward & through
At the time of writing this, we are in the Dark of the Moon as we move into a powerful New Moon in Pisces on the 10th.
Oh, and the ECLIPSES...a full moon lunar eclipse in Libra March 25 and a New Moon Total Solar eclipse in the sign of Aries on the 8th...with Mercury moving retrograde on April 1st...yep, April Fools Day. )
February, through the first week of March brought a number of rather challenging squares involving the line-up of planets in the sign of futuristic & "sparky" oddball Aquarius and the Heavy Hitter planets, Jupiter and Uranus, both now moving direct in the sign of traditional and sensual Taurus.
It points to a complex and contradictory sky...Neither Jupiter (directed towards spiritual expansion) nor Uranus (innovative and experimental ruler of Aquarius) are exactly comfy in the sign of Taurus.
(Got any planets in Leo or Cancer? You may feel eclipses especially strongly as both the luminaries energies are highlighted but even if not, the energies are definitely active for all of us)
That said, eclipses, even when they bring uncomfortable change are somehow illuminating our path more clearly. And these eclipses have a more positive focus to them (welcome after the last several weeks of the "angry squares")
With Pluto now in Aquarius bringing us into deep transformation at a collective and personal level, uplevelling many of our "mental" concepts and fixed notions about "the way things work" It's a fascinating if confounding, uncomfortable time.
As an astrologer and alchemical coach, i think about this stuff virtually all the time and yet it never fails to astonish me at how "little" I actually feel like i know what's going on when i'm inside the maelstrom of complex feelings and emotions and competing beliefs and values that feel like they're coming from all directions. Navigating this is my central task in order to embody my purpose as a leader (and functional as a highly-sensitive and emphathic person)
No doubt you as a conscious entrepreneurial woman and leader are feeling this as well...

It's a heart-breaking time in our current evolution, given the violence - and now war - in the Middle East and the third year of fighting in Ukraine.
For conscious, transformational leaders, you are certainly tuned into this at some level, maybe wondering if there's any hope at all?
I have a funny relationship with hope, honestly. I've made peace with the fact that it's essential to our life journey on Earth...after all, how does one continue without hope?
Maybe it's really false hope that we need to let go of? A sense that somehow, something outside us will change everything..I am prone to this somewhat delusional thinking at times...
But what i do know without a doubt is that the leadership we're being called towards at this time is asking us to make space for spiritual and intellectual and emotional leadership ....that is more deeply Embodied.
Role modelling [IMPERFECTLY] a different way of being that is deeply grounded in ourselves rather than one that is "out front with all the answers", although....
…Aries definitely likes to be active, and often out front...ahead of the Pack.
Sometimes this can become a kind of hubris-tic willfullness...even though it's often part and parcel of being fearless or courageous!
It's really getting the proportions "right", a near-obsession of Aries' opposite sign, Libra...Everything in balance and moderation...unless its based on fear of:...attack, rejection, abandonment which can be major shadows of Libra's desire to avoid disharmony.
(With the South Node in Libra, we're getting a big-time push from the universe to release the latter )
When should you welcome competition or even conflict (which can be engaged with in a healthy way?
When is it best to strategically avoid it and turn your attention elsewhere?
Margaret Lynch has talked about how high-achievers in particular tend to strongly resist the experience of deep grief and sadness...Ironically as someone who is ludicrously empathic, i can attest to this (though i wouldn't exactly call myself a high-achiever...ambitious dreamer perhaps:)
But, yeah. Tuning into the deep existential grief, separation and sense of loneliness is typically something most of us seek to avoid at all costs....
And something we need to be willing to face, ideally in with others in community but that's not always possible...
So for conscious women leaders (or conscious leaders of all genders really):
Where can you create space that allows for more compassion and rich presence for some of these emotions in your personal or even professional settings?
As an artist, I know how essential the power of emotions is...they must be allowed to flow...
The world, stricken
a snapdragon dawn
Beckoning a pause
Don't run it whispers
Behold a startling
Gratitude for the things
That cannot be named
except with tears of joy or pain.

What is "Worthiness"?
With Venus retrograde since July 22nd-September 3rd, with an important post-retro shadow period through early October, the question of worthiness has been on my mind...
How do we define worthiness? What's our personal relationship to worthiness? (this will look different for everybody)
How are we triggered (either positively or negatively) by someone else claiming their worthiness?
Venus has been spending an unusually long period in Leo, a sign which rules our sense of self-confidence and self-expression. It's how we're expressing our worthiness, often in an outer sense (to shine and to play and share our uniqueness and creativity..
This is the space of true generosity, when we feel blessed and abundant and simply must share from the overflow (rather than from a sense of lack, guilt or fear;)
Hmmm…i WONDER why that can POSSIBLY feel so difficult for so many of us? :)
The shadow side of Leo is excessive pride, arrogance and a sense of entitlement.
And what about Venus-ruled matters themselves? These include money, our values, our sense of self-worth (different from self-confidence), as well as our relationships.
There are challenges and gifts particular to every retrograde season and this one is no different. If you have important planets or points in Leo you may have found this time to be rather difficult!
For myself this has been playing out financially in quite challenging ways and of course, that’s true for so many of us these days especially it seems…
I've needed to "go back to the drawing board" repeatedly to understand where i've needed to forgive, both myself and others, in order to reconnect to that worthiness.
As i've come to understand over the course of years addressing my money issues is that it's basically the same story for everyone.
Scarcity and lack are wired into us, rich, poor and anyone in between.
And the link to worthiness is often present..
When you really consider it, what does worthiness mean for you personally?
As someone with a defined will and g centre in Human Design, at the level of my conscious awareness anyways i've long known, maybe even forever?, is that worthiness is not in question, for anyone, period.
yep, that’s right. Its all a Big Cosmic Joke (BCJ)
Worthiness simply IS. You are worthy, I am worthy, everybody's worthy. Period. The End.
What I resented (like, deeply resented) was other people behaving like they weren't worthy because then I felt like I had to "dial down" my worthiness. I mean, The trauma.🥲
I am, have always been and probably will always be in sincere AWE of how genuinely extraordinary women are...not celebrities, not necessarily people who've won major awards or who've been formally honoured for some achievement or other big accomplishments
I mean regular, ordinary, “average” women i've met and known, even virtual strangers...usually acting like their obvious brilliance ain't no big thing...and who are definitely undervaluing themselves financially 🤯
(I also think the World is most definitely paying a price for that…but that’s a topic for another time)
Part of this is that one of my super-powers (100% completely unhumble brag) is seeing people's genius and being able to draw it out and nurture it.
What broke my heart was THEM not seeing and owning it (not coincidentally, it’s also a reason why I only work with women entrepreneurs & leaders all in on their transformation)
Ok, fine. But if we're all worthy, shouldn't we know it already?
Well, let's say you don't have a defined will centre and/or G-centre…In that case, your feeling sense of self-worth might be more inconsistent.
Maybe you often feel unworthy, like you have to do things, perhaps especially things you don't have a stronger desire around to prove to yourself or others that you're worthy.
There are important lessons from any experience but approval, applause and accolades while welcome, have little to do with worthiness…
And what about "proving"?
While you don't need to prove your worthiness, which is innate, you do need to demonstrate it in some way, even if it's small and only for yourself/the people closest to you.
So feeling, being and doing work together in a synchronistic, synergistic way.
This is where our individual self-knowledge is so important because it will look different person to person and of course our specific circumstances vary, too..
Maybe you need a nap or a massage or take a vacation…
Maybe like me, what you really know you need to embody your worthiness is to buckle down, push through (initially!!) and get shit done you've been procrastinating on (i confess it can feel like i’m at battle with my inner rebel/2 year old to move through the procrastination although I feel great when I'm doing it!)
And as conscious entrepreneurs and leaders, at a certain level, we recognize that we have to align with that core worthiness to step up and do the bolder things being called of us…
